We are committed to ending violence against women and children in our community. A major part of this ambitious and worthy goal is sharing knowledge. If you are interested in having a staff person provide an educational event on:

family violence
domestic violence
impacts on children
how to recognize signs of abuse
or other important topic areas

Heal Your Heart with Art:

A program for women who have experienced domestic abuse, using painting to help with their healing. Safe, supportive, confidential environment. No cost to participate.

Third Place Transition House is proud to announce that we are in the process of creating Second Stage Housing for survivors of intimate partner violence. Third Place offers supportive emergency shelter for up to 6 weeks, however, as Nova Scotia grapples with an epidemic of intimate partner violence, we recognize that emergency shelter is only the first stage. Our Second Stage Housing will provide:•Safe and affordable housing units to female survivors of intimate partner violence and their families•Space for programming and education on abuse, healing, healthy relationships, and more•A space for survivors to continue their healing journey with the support of Third Place staffIn order to make this project a reality, we need the help of our strong community.
